As a Donor Coordinator, you will coordinate all activities related to organ donor allocation, procurement, preservation and transplantation.

- Has at least three years of OPO, tissue bank, transplant center, or operating room clinical experience.
- Is a Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) or is willing to obtain certification within one year of employment.

- Has excellent critical thinking, data collection, organization, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities:
- Assesses availability of organ offers, evaluates quality of donor organ, manages procurement, transportation and transplant logistics, and is available 24/7 for DonorNet call.
- Serves as resource for organ recovery and preservation.
- Prepares organs for perfusion and monitors preservation parameters during the process, recording pressures, flows and taking test samples.
- Assists with data collection and quality.
- Assists with maintenance of transplant waiting list.
- Completes all follow up requirements related to transplant.
- Acts as a liaison to Organ Procurement Organizations.
- Complies with OPTN/UNOS requirements.
- Completes and submits donor documentation with host OPO and OPTN/UNOS. Assists with maintenance of transplant waiting list.
- Prepares equipment, solution and drugs for procurement, preservation and transplantation.
- Maintains cleanliness of preservation and research labs.
- Maintains sterile technique for organ preservation.
- Performs data entry into EMR and electronic database.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Degree or diploma from accredited nursing school, Associate's Degree in Allied Health, paramedic certificate or graduate of an approved MA or ORT program.
- Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) obtained within 1 year of employment, preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum three years clinical experience in OPO, tissue bank, transplant center, or operating room experience.
- Ability to stand in operating room for long periods and light lifting (40lbs).
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
