As a Transcriptionist in our department, your duties will include but are not limited to:
Providing clerical support for the Pathologists and result reporting of cytopathology and anatomic pathology.
Completing transcription of both gross and final diagnosis for cytology and surgical reports.
Ensuring that transcriptions are formatted according to company standards.
Researching and verifying names, terms, and other information as needed.

Responsibilities:
- Provides clerical support for the Pathologists and result reporting of cytopathology and anatomic pathology.
- Completes transcription of both gross and final diagnosis for cytology and surgical reports.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with physicians, nursing personnel, and patients.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High School Degree equivalent is the minimum.
- One year of college or equivalent is preferred.
Certifications:
- None required.

- Confidentiality: The employee has access to the entire medical record for the purpose of charting and correcting laboratory results AND review of physician orders. The access is limited to the amount reasonably necessary to achieve the purpose of the laboratory testing request. The disclosure or requests that occur on a routine or recurring basis include patient demographics, condition and laboratory results.
Work Experience:
- At least six (6) months experience in Pathology transcription preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
- Ability to travel throughout the hospital system
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
- In some locations, ability to move up to 20 pounds
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $15.25
Maximum hourly: $19.60

A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education.
