PRIMARY PURPOSE: To thoroughly clean and sanitize all restrooms throughout the facility in preparation for all fans, guests, and employees at Progressive Field for all games and events. This job will require interactions with crowds of people, and thus carries risks associated with such gatherings.

All applicants for employment with the Cleveland Guardians will need to comply with the OSHA COVID-19 Vaccination Policy as a condition of employment. Potential candidates for employment will be notified of the requirements of this policy prior to the start of employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Ability to clean and sanitize all sinks, mirrors, fixtures, doors, and walls of restroom stalls/partitions, floors while using proper equipment provided
  • Ability to understand and operate all sanitize equipment
  • Ability to clean and polish all stainless steel
  • Ability to clean door thresholds and wipe down entrance and exit doors and louvers
  • Ability to read and understand cleaning chemical product use instructions
  • Ability to lift and transport mops, buckets, and trash cans weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Report any maintenance and safety issues immediately to Supervisor
  • Perform other work-related duties, as assigned by Supervisor or Management team
  • Ability to work through end of shift; should not depart until Supervisor checks work area
  • Participation in trainings pertaining to public health and appropriate public health-related protocols.
  • Assistance in application and enforcement of public health-related requirements, including (but not limited to) requirements pertaining to the wearing of masks and/or social distancing.
  • Must be minimum of 18 years of age
  • Required to become member of Service Employees International Union, SEIU 1

DEPARTMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Read and understand all relevant policies and procedures of the Facility Operations department and Cleveland Guardians Organization
  • Clear understanding of all other departments throughout the organization
  • Monitor and implement policies and procedures in a polite and friendly manner
  • Professionally interact with all guests and employees in a clear and effective manner
  • Actively engage and listen to all Guest and professionally answer any questions or concerns in a timely manner
  • Ability to learn all areas of the ballpark, to provide clear accurate direction and assistance to all guest
  • Document all unusual or unique occurrences on an observation card and report to a Supervisor in a timely manner
  • Promptly monitor all public areas of the ballpark, reporting any matter that requires medical, security, custodial or maintenance personnel using means and methods provided in handbook, in a timely manner, continue to monitor to ensure satisfactory resolution
  • Attend all required trainings and daily briefings
  • Trustworthy and dependable
  • Ability to analyze situations
  • Ability to work independently or as part of team
  • Ability to work entire assigned shift; this includes but not limited to pre-events, post-events, and rain delays
  • Ability to walk, stand and climb stairs and/or ramps during entire shift
  • Ability to lift, carry, and transport large boxes and items in excess of 25 lbs.
  • Clear understanding of individual staff responsibilities throughout the department
  • Ability to hear, comprehend and disseminate instructions and vital information especially in the event of emergencies
  • Maintain a professional appearance in compliance with the Employee Handbook and our uniform requirements
  • Available to work the vast majority of all home games during the months of April through October
  • Ability to learn and operate basic computer operating programs i.e. Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer, ABI, UltiPro
  • Typical Work Hours (subject to change depending on game/gate times)
    • Non-game days: 7:00am start
    • Night games: 7:00am start
    • Day games: 6:00am start
    • Daily operating hours can range from 4-8 hours per day
    • Breaks and lunches to be determined by Supervisor; there are no breaks for 4-hour shifts
    • Work days are determined by the Cleveland Guardians baseball schedule and other ballpark events

  • Ability to develop and maintain successful working relationships with members of the Front Office.

  • Ability to walk, sit or stand for an entire shift.
  • Ability to work extended days and hours, including holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to move throughout all areas and levels of the Ballpark.
  • Ability to work in a diverse and changing environment.
  • Occasional physical activity such as lifting and carrying boxes up to 25 lbs.
