Requirements
5-10 years related leadership experience in a manufacturing company overseeing a Machine Shop / Die Shop / Mold Shop.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot daily production issues, process, and equipment; recommend and implement process / equipment efficiency and quality improvements.
- Schedule all Machine Shop Work : resinks, new dies, holding dies, new and reworked auxiliary equipment, maintenance machining.
- Review, analyze and enforce proper incentive time records.
- Update / Complete current resink list / hours, new die activity / hours, new auxiliary tooling work / hours.
- Maintain current die block / insert inventory, Machine Shop files and Die Shop / Die Storage Machinery
- Supervise union personnel and Die Shop tractor driver.
- Assist the Purchasing department on the following : new die blocks, parts and service for all machine tools in the die shop / storage area, cutters and other miscellaneous items, all insert material.
- Monitor and report production; serve as a key driver for shift safety improvement.
- Provide direction and leadership to the production crew to accomplish organizational goals.
- Coordinate die changes and address daily production and quality concerns with staff and other production members.
- Communicate job expectations, plan, monitor, and appraise job results;
- Implement cost reductions, develop reporting procedures and systems; facilitate corrections to malfunctions within the production process control points;
initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within the department.
- Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs and documenting listed items to be addressed.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources;
maintain compliance with established policies and procedures.
Assist in implementing continuous improvement activities.
