Title: User Acceptance Testing Analyst
Location: San Jose CA (Onsite all 5 days)
Position: Contract W2 benefits
Job Description
Role Responsibilities
- Manage and execute forms of testing; including regression testing, end to end stage
testing, performance testing, integration testing
- Testing for Google TV using internal tools and the 3rd party App experience.
- Become a master of our Operations internal tools and processes; ability to summarize
key points and tie back to user experience
- Interface with multiple business stakeholders on test plans, test execution, and test
reporting
- Be able to obtain feedback from test participants on testing project completion and
issues uncovered during the course of testing and adjust accordingly.
- Assist in production issues once tested items are launched
- Acquire an expert-level of understanding of our Google TV pipeline, from ingestion,
integration to consumption, as well as our troubleshooting tools
Requirements
- Ability to diagnose issues and the persistence to see them through closure
- Ability to effectively and clearly scope the projects/testing/issues, define and
communicate action items and goals
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years equivalent work experience
- Strong capability in end-to-end software/platform testing
- Strong Excel/Google Docs skills and Gmail
- Ability to run multiple on-going projects in a fast-paced environment and work on tight
daily deadlines, while maintaining a high level of quantity and accuracy.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and influencing skills; you are able to take
technical concepts and explain them in non-technical terms
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to facilitate productive
discussions with cross-functional teams
- Extremely organized; you can refer to past projects/issues quickly to help understand
and troubleshoot new problems
- Attention to detail, impeccable follow-through, and ability to see how the details fit into
the big picture of a global product
- Self-motivated; you’re able to work independently on issues that come in and know when
to reach out for help if necessary
- Ability to work in a group with direct or cross functional colleagues
- Naturally curious; you’re innovative, extremely creative and constantly looking for ways
to tweak and optimize processes
- Comfortable working in a continually changing and dynamic environment
- Comfortable with ambiguity, decisive with ownership of issues
Nice to have
- Experience performing Functional, System Integration, and UAT tests
- Experience with the media ingestion system (XML, MMC, MEC, JSON)
- Shell / terminal experience
- Linux experience
- Familiarity with TV and their app’s services/features
- Experience with bug/ticket tracking system
- Technical writing background
- Passionate about Movies and TV on media platform
