Reporting to the Director of Professional Development, the Informaticist Clinical Nurse Educator will provide Clinical Informatics education to nursing staff. The Informaticist Clinical Nurse Educator will assist Clinical Directors and Clinical Managers in ensuring staff competency, ongoing skills assessment, and opportunities for growth by providing informal and formal education to nursing staff and assisting with Joint Commission education.

The Informaticist Clinical Nurse Educator will perform a variety of staff development duties relating to the clinical information systems (CIS) applications. The Informaticist Clinical Nurse Educator will support projects related to the enhancement and system of Clinical Information Systems CIS software and related processes.

The Informaticist Clinical Nurse Educator will serve as a subject-matter expert and makes discretionary and joint decisions using clinical judgment regarding clinical workflow and processes as they relate to Clinical Information System CIS applications.

The Informaticist Clinical Nurse Educator will utilize resources to optimize complex clinical software utilizing established standards and departmental protocols. The Clinical Nurse Informaticist Educator will work with customers to gather specifications for the purchase, development, and installation of clinical systems.

The Clinical Systems Nurse Educator Informaticist will seek to optimize performance and utilization of Clinical Information System CIS. The Informaticist Clinical Nurse Educator will support projects to support process improvement through the use of CIS. The ideal candidate for Informaticist Clinical Nurse Educator should have BSN degree with active CA RN license and Clinical Information System (CIS) degree and experience in acute care hospital.
