One of the largest health systems in New York is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their Cardiac Care team. The Advanced Practice Professional will work under the supervision/collaboration of a qualified physician member of the ICU/Critical Care Medical Staff.
The Advanced Practice Provider - Cardiac Care will become a member of a 300 bed hospital that has provided the Long Island residents with the highest quality healthcare for over 50 years. This hospital system has made several state-of-the-art renovations to their equipment and facility to ensure top quality care. The hospital has several areas of excellence including cancer care, maternal child health, pediatric care, cardiology, surgical services and emergency medicine.
The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner will work to obtain a detailed medical history of patients, perform comprehensive physical examinations, diagnose medical problems, order and interpret diagnostic studies, institute appropriate medical treatment, order medications, perform invasive procedures and counsel patients and employees as credentialed and dispense DME equipment.
The qualified Physician Assistant will be a graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant or by one of its predecessor agencies. Physician Assistant's must also have current NCCPA certification. The qualified Nurse Practitioner must be a graduate of an approved program for the training of NP's and have AANP or ANCC certification. DEA registration required for those with discharge responsibilities.
