A long-standing, not-for-profit hospital in the wine country of Northern California is seeking a Peer Review Quality Nurse Coordinator to provide expertise to its Quality Management department. Today, the hospital continues the mission by providing integrated spectrum of primary, urgent, acute, outpatient, palliative care and regional referral services in the surrounding communities. The Quality Peer Review Nurse Coordinator will join a medical center that act as a regional referral hub for outlying hospitals, while also providing outpatient behavioral health care, education to promote health and prevent chronic disease, rehabilitation, oral health care, community benefit programs to foster health and quality of life throughout the area.
The Peer Review Quality Nurse Coordinator will be responsible for supporting and coordinating Medical Staff Peer Review committees and activities across defined departments. The Quality Peer Review Nurse Coordinator for Risk Management will closely collaborate with Medical Staff leadership and Nurse Director of Risk Management on providing accurate clinical summaries, data trending, reports and analysis.
The Peer Review Quality Nurse Coordinator will commit to the four essential values and strive to make them present in their relationships with others and with those whom the hospital serves. The Quality Peer Review Nurse Coordinator for Risk Management will coordinate and communicate with physicians and/or their offices in regard to screening, scoring and assist with their presentation of select cases for peer review.
The Peer Review Quality Nurse Coordinator for Risk Management will attend the medical staff peer review meetings and creates the record of the peer review discussion and outcomes. Coordinates follow-up planning processes/activities. Provides data abstraction, analysis and reporting of trends relating to defined departmental outcomes. Maintains knowledge of Evidence-based, CMS and TJC clinical metrics (i.e. Core Measures, AHRQ Patient Safety Indicators, Hospital Acquired Conditions).
