Summary:
The Director of Clinical Services and Education is a member of the Corvallis Clinic leadership team and will provide overall administrative direction and coordination for clinical policies, procedures, and protocols at The Corvallis Clinic. The Director will be responsible for the analysis, planning and implementation of clinical programs to strengthen the core competencies of clinical employees. The Director of Clinical Services and Education is responsible for the overall supervision, evaluation, monitoring, and provision of the TCC clinical services team, including the clinical training and development, medication/vaccine management and pharmaceutical services.

Responsibilities:
1. Will participate and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards Handbook. To this end, employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained within.

2. Responsible for oversight of clinical services and clinical services team at TCC. This includes direct oversight of clinical training and education, clinical policy and procedures, and pharmaceutical services including immunization programs, medication/vaccine procurement and inventory management.

3. Ensures compliance with organizational policies, state and federal regulations and industry standards, including OSBN, OHA by maintaining, developing, planning, and implementing policies and procedures . Develops clinical workflows and protocols in response to changing requirements.

4. Collaborates with other members of the TCC leadership team to facilitate inter-disciplinary teams in the achievement of the organization's strategic goals.

5. Oversees development, implementation and evaluation of clinical staff orientation, support, training, and competency development. Provides direct management and oversight to clinical training team.

6. Collaborates with VP of Operations, CMO, HR and clinic leadership to develop strategic plans regarding clinical staff recruitment, hiring, retention.

7. Collaborates with HR to ensure new and onboarding clinical support staff meet license and certification expectations of the Corvallis Clinic and regulatory and state agencies as indicated.

8. Facilitate process improvement initiatives that enhance patient experience and safety. Provides clinical leadership and response to patient safety issues including monitoring risk management incidents, medication errors and other patient safety issues.

9. Collaborates with clinic leadership and director of quality improvement to ensure clinical workflows are aligned to support patient experience and quality outcomes of care.

10. Identify appropriate internal controls for department and provide mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance. Oversee programs meant to assess clinical competence and compliance with established policies and procedures.

11. Actively participates and engages in TCC committees to include safety committee, electronic health record committee, quality improvement committee and other workgroups and committees as assigned.

a. Provides leadership to assist with any public health emergency that affects TCC and the clinic community.

b. Provides clinical staff with communication re: applicable health alerts and advisories.

12. Ensures the communication of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures up and down the chain of leadership through meetings, huddles, and other forms of communication.

13. Develop departmental annual budget for staffing, supplies and capital expenses and manage expenditures in a cost-effective manner .

14. Directs the onboarding of students in the clinical setting and ensures each student and school meet requirements set by the organization, state, and industry standards.

15. Provides oversight and leadership support to TCC clinical lead program, including facilitating regular group and 1:1 meeting with clinical leads.

16. Directly supervises clinical resource RN, clinical trainers, pharmaceutical coordinator, vaccination CMA, and medication refill/PA team.

Education, licensure, and experience:
1. Current unencumbered licensure in Oregon as a RN

2. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program; OR a combination of an associate degree in nursing and a bachelor's degree in a science or health care related field

3. Master's Degree in healthcare field preferred

4. Minimum two years' experience working in a supervisory role

5. Minimum t hree years' experience in direct delivery of patient care

6. Experience in a multispecialty, outpatient, ambulatory care setting preferred

7. Proficiency with EHR

Knowledge and skills:
1. Proficient in MS Office and computer systems.

2. Ability to work compatibly with physicians/providers and staff.

3. Excellent communication skills- effectively interact with people and develop positive relationships while being tactful, respectful, and direct in communication.

4. Organizational and leadership skills working with inter-disciplinary teams.

5. Working knowledge of state health authorities, including Oregon Health Authority and Oregon State Board of Nursing.

6. Effective problem solving and ability to analyze and use data for decision making. Excellent analytical, training and presentation skills.

7. Ability to manage, build, and maintain successful teams.
