Pay at $21/hourly Shift 545am-615pm; 545pm-615am Night shift differential $0.30/hour Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Check proper plates against the job jacket sample or the art board in order to mount specific job. Ensures proper number of plates are available for each color, acquires proper cylinders from cylinder rack location or if job is mounted on sleeves or on sleeves from twin lock rack. Check each cylinders total indicated run out with a cylinder gauge ensuring cylinder is not damaged. Determine proper plate position on print web and proper stagger for the job. Inspect photopolymer plates and sleeves coming from the press department and take the sleeves off the carriers or strip the plates. Responsible for putting the sleeves in their proper twinlock rack. Check first piece conformance to specifications. Input Mounting specification on the FAMM Mounter Machine. Ensure primer is placed on the plates. Ensure plates are available in good condition for press department. Cut plate properly to fit into cylinder. Report ALL accidents to the shift manager or department manager immediately.. Report ALL unsafe acts and conditions to the shift manager or department manager immediately. Report all food safety violations to management . Regular, consistent attendance and punctuality are essential to the job. Other duties as assigned. Participate in Sonoco’s Performance System (SPS) activities as required – 5Star, Pillar Teams, Audits, Near Misses, etc. Regular, consistent attendance and punctuality are required and expected for job performance. Skills Requirements: Read, Speak and Write English Mechanical Aptitude, Math Skills, Knowledge of Cylinder Gauge Educational Requirements: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent job experience Training Requirements: Review Company (Corporate and Divisional) policies and procedures Personal Safety GMP Training Food Safety and Quality Systems requirements and procedures Review Food Safety and Quality System policies Explanation of departments and their roles Job Specific Training Hazards PPE Familiarize with Job Jacket and Art Board Proper Mounting procedures Review number of Plates available/ needed for each color Location of Cylinder Rack, Tube Pack Proper use of Cylinder Gauge Process for determining the total indicated Run Out on a Cylinder Review proper positioning of Plates using Print Web Proof Sheet processes and requirements Process of Inspecting Photopolymer Plates Conformance requirement for First Piece Daily Housekeeping Procedures to comply with SQF standard. Physical, Mental and Visual Demands: Moderate to heavy physical effort performing duties/work activities; lift up to 60 lbs.
