Overview

We are seeking a Healthcare User Acceptance Tester who will support the State of Tennessee on the Healthcare User Acceptance Testing project. This person will be responsible for ensuring the system meets business requirements and supports business outcomes, attending meetings, reviewing requirement and design documents, and providing expert feedback where appropriate. Working closely with our client and other partners, the consultant will contribute to the success of the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process and assist in defect resolution to maintain high-quality standards.

Duties

• Conduct all testing and evaluation of project initiatives, identifying issues in software or services.
• Analyze discrepancies in service or performance and recommend product or service updates.
• Plan, organize, execute, and monitor UAT testing, including managing defects, creating defect reports, and collaborating with vendors and the state to resolve issues.
• Ensure timely completion of software testing according to plan and communicate bottlenecks or risks to management.
• Collaborate with our client and other partners on defect resolution and other project processes.
  
  

Mandatory Skills/ Experience

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of experience on one or more Eligibility, Medicaid, or Health and Human Services (HHS) IT projects.
• 5 years of experience working on mid- to large-scale system development projects, including using test automation, test strategy, and developing and executing test scripts and test plans.
• 5 years of experience creating and executing detailed test scripts for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and/or Systems Integration Testing (SIT), ensuring alignment with business requirements.
  
  

Desirable Skills/ Experience

• Strong ability to build effective, positive working relationships with internal and external contacts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office products such as Word, Excel, and online applications.
• Experience with defect management tools (e.g., HP ALM, Bugzilla, JIRA, JAMA) and familiarity with the requirements traceability matrix.
• Familiarity with testing phases, entrance and exit criteria, and creating and maintaining testing data.
• Experience with the MMIS Member Enrollment/Provider Services Modules.
• Knowledge of development tools and languages, with a strong understanding of the overall software development lifecycle.
