Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced PeopleSoft/Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting PeopleSoft Financials, CRM, and/or HCM systems by administering, configuring, tuning, and troubleshooting Oracle databases. Your expertise in Oracle database administration and strong knowledge of PeopleSoft applications will contribute to the smooth operation and optimization of our database environment.
Duties
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases, ensuring their availability and performance in a multiple server environment (development, test, training, staging, and production).
- Perform database administration tasks, including but not limited to monitoring, tuning, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting to ensure system integrity and data reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze data requirements, define database architecture, document technical designs, and conduct thorough testing of databases.
- Identify problem SQL queries, analyze execution plans, and develop tuning options to optimize query performance and enhance overall system efficiency.
- Document database configurations, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of database settings, parameters, and maintenance procedures.
- Utilize backup, cloning, and recovery tools such as RMAN to implement and maintain robust data protection and disaster recovery strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in Oracle database administration to continuously improve our database environment.
- Provide support and guidance to team members, sharing your knowledge and expertise in Oracle database administration.
Basic Qualifications:
- Five or more years of experience serving as an Oracle database administrator (DBA) supporting PeopleSoft Financials, CRM, and/or HCM systems.
- Five or more years of experience in installing, configuring, administering, tuning, and troubleshooting Oracle databases.
- Five or more years of experience in implementing and maintaining Oracle Databases across a multiple server environment.
- Five or more years of experience developing and utilizing backup, cloning, and recovery tools such as RMAN.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in identifying problem SQL, analyzing execution plans, and developing tuning options to optimize query performance.
- Oracle database development experience using Oracle databases.
- Experience in analyzing data requirements, defining database architecture, documenting technical designs, and conducting thorough database testing.
- Proficiency in documenting database configurations to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
- Familiarity with Oracle engineered systems.
- Two or more years of experience employing and maintaining OEM, Oracle advanced security (TDE), and Dataguard.
- Two or more years of experience in installing, configuring, administering, tuning, and troubleshooting Oracle Exadata hardware.
- Two or more years of experience in installing, configuring, administering, tuning, and troubleshooting Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC).
- Two or more years of experience in installing, configuring, administering, tuning, and troubleshooting Oracle 12C and above, including experience with PDB and CDB technologies.
- One or more years of experience with Oracle Cloud (OCI).
