Clover Leaf is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team in support of Design activities at our client location in Oak Ridge, TN. We are looking for someone who can work as part of a team and individually.
What You Will Do
Contribute to a dynamic team of facility engineering professionals that provide engineering solutions across a wide variety of buildings at one of the most important research facilities in the world. Our client is looking for an enthusiastic senior level engineer with an interest in building systems and infrastructure to work as an engineering manager.
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the technical aspects of design projects are in full conformance with approved specification and coordination of all trades are incorporated into the design by monitoring designer and engineering activities. This is accomplished by ensuring that baseline documents are accurate, design documents are adhered to, and as-built configurations are verified. Engineers expedite project execution through identifying issues, coordinating technical solutions, and providing timely guidance through approved policies and procedures. Will be responsible in leading design efforts and coordination between design disciplines.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to oversee, develop, and/or enforce adherence to design specifications consisting of multiple disciplines and the coordination of systems. Proven ability to effectively communicate engineering solutions both verbally and in writing for management, customers, peers, and designers. Including preparing Change Requests and progress reports and keeping supervisors properly informed on the progress of all assigned tasks skilled at preparing field material purchase requisitions through material take-off, including estimating the quantities and assuring compliance with design specifications and drawings.
Experienced reviewing: Work Packages and Work Instructions for completeness; project design; and engineering documents to ensure their completeness and constructability; Experienced in inspecting construction work for compliance with drawings, specifications and national codes and standards; and performing witness testing, interpretation of design drawings and specifications, and closeout requirements.
Demonstrated ability to independently lead all activities listed above.
Experienced working independently on tasks ranging in complexity.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Discipline
5 years of experience
Project Management Experience
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of DOE and Engineering Standards and Conduct of Engineering principals and procedures.
Fundamental knowledge of engineering and construction techniques, applications of engineering and construction methods, and application of technology and tools to conventional facility operation.
PMP Certification is preferred
