We're hiring a self-motivated Legal Assistant to join our team who will focus their efforts on keeping the office running efficiently, working files, and interacting with clients. This position requires someone who is organized, communicates well with both clients and opposing attorneys, is an excellent writer, and can provide administrative support with an eye for detail. The firm primarily interacts with insurance adjusters, insurance defense lawyers, and large (often sophisticated) corporate defendants. We are a small office and the candidate would have a broad range of DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, to include but not limited to:
- Respond to incoming calls & emails
- Managing files in litigation & pre-litigation
- Drafting and mailing regular correspondence
- Managing Attorney Calendar
- Completing tasks on client files as directed by an attorney
- Setting meetings with attorneys, experts, and prospective clients
- Drafting motions, disclosures & discovery requests as directed
REQUIREMENTS:
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office. We are primarily a paperless firm and use a host of software to accomplish daily tasks from e-sign and faxing, to document editing and labeling; an ability to watch training videos, ask questions, and understand technology quickly is a must. We will provide comprehensive training on our case management software. This position is in-office only, so you must be willing to commute to Central Phoenix regularly.
EXPERIENCE:
Prior administrative assistant or legal assistant experience is a plus. Prior law firm experience is desirable, though not required.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal Certificate
