Job Summary:
The Golf Course Maintenance Foreman is responsible for assisting in the operating functions of the Golf Course Maintenance Department. The operating functions include: Turfgrasses/plant material maintenance programs, property/asset management, budgeting, forecasting, financial management, scheduling daily maintenance programs and scheduling of irrigation systems, pesticide applications, related recordings, and compliance of regulatory issues.
Day-to-Day:
- Assist Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent in providing agronomic direction for the healthy growth of the golf course & Clubhouse Grounds grasses, trees, and other plant materials.
- Supervise the application and recording of chemical applications on the Club's grounds in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Supervise the safe use and maintenance of the golf course mechanical equipment by employees.
- Ensure staff are working within OSHA, Club safety, state, and federal guidelines for safe working conditions.
- Provide technical, operational, and safety training for employees.
- Fills in to perform all functions and routine golf course maintenance activities as needed or as directed by Golf Course Superintendent.
- Must be willing to go above and beyond the normal day duties when the need calls for it, working long and sometimes odd hours.
- Filling in for Superintendent when needed
About You:
- 1-5 years in Golf Course Maintenance.
- Preferred 2-year degree in Agronomy/Horticulture field.
- Required Pesticide Applicators license within 3 months.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
