Event Delivery Driver

Carolina’s Luxury Event Rentals & Florals is hiring for Event Operations Drivers. This is part-time, weekend, flexible scheduling. Drivers are responsible for the safely operating, loading and unloading 16 - 26ft company vehicles including box trucks and set-up and break down of special events with other team members. Staff must be able to lift and carry minimum of 50lbs. unassisted. We promote a fun positive work environment, centered on teamwork.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate with event team on deliveries and pick-ups

• Inspect and count inventory during loading and unloading process

• Perform pre and pos-trip inspections on company vehicles

• Maintain professional and courteous attitude when working with internal and external customers

• Operate 16 -26ft box truck and other company vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and safety procedures (Non-CDL)

• Maintain valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

• Willing to learn internal installation and strike procedures such as pipe & drape, stages, etc.

• Willing to learn assembly of rental equipment including tools needed and ability to operate tools (i.e., screwdriver, hand truck, etc.)

• Install and setting up event rental equipment per company policy and procedures

• Assist in maintaining appearance and cleanliness of warehouse

• Ensure jobsites are clean after pick-up and delivery

• Assist with inventory and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

•Ability to work evenings and weekend shifts

• Basic math and counting skills

• Event and/or moving industry experience preferred

• Building, carpentry and fabrication skills a plus

• Ability to work in non-climate controlled environments including all weather conditions

• Ability to follow instruction, verbal communication, read and identify numbers according to company procedures

• Reliable Transportation

• Truck Driver experience (non-CDL 16 – 26 ft box trucks)

• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (no major violations in the past five years, no more than two moving violations in the past three years)

• Ability to obtain a DOT medical certification card upon hire

Physical Demands:

Job duties require the ability to stand for an extended period of time; walk; use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, or carry; reach with hands and arms. The position occasionally requires sitting, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The position requires frequently lifting up to 50 lbs., occasionally to lift up to 100 lbs. Must be able to safely tolerate heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
