Description:
The 8th Grade Assistant Football Coach will instruct student-athletes to develop skills and the ability to excel in the sport and actively contribute to the education program as a whole and to the growth of students in all areas of athletics so that they are successfully competitive.
Responsible to: Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Director, Head Coach, and Administrators
Qualifications:
1. As set by the State of Oklahoma and the Board of Education.
2. Experience with the sport of Football
3. Oklahoma Teaching Certification (if applicable)
4. Knowledge and completion of OSSAA and NFHS rules
5. Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries
6. CDL with passenger and required endorsements
7. Willingness to be a lifelong learner, attend clinics and expand knowledge of self and staff. Join and be an active member of all coaches associations associated with the sport.
8. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
9. Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship.
10. Take all steps to protect student-athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities.
11. Monitor and enforce student eligibility and attendance.
12. Aid in evaluating the program and players to address changes based on findings for the program's growth
13. Complete and maintain overall inventories and maintenance/purchase of equipment.
14. Establish and meet performance goals.
15. Other duties and accountabilities consistent with the job may be assigned.

Other Duties
1. Attends staff development meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance.
2. Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach, Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Director, Principal, or other appropriate administrators.
