The Team
The FinOps team was created as CME Group embarked on its journey to the cloud. The team is centralized within the Finance division, but works in lock step with the Technology division at all levels. FinOps is one of the most visible teams within the organization.
About the Role
Support generating and reviewing cost and usage reports across the entire cloud footprint, both GCP and AWS. Generate summaries and recommendations and present them to the Director of FinOps. Participate in the development of new features to help teams identify and action optimization opportunities. Support the cultural change to a company wide FinOps mindset through education and communication.
Principle Accountabilities:
Support the FinOps team in finding optimization opportunities
Review, maintain and build new BI reports
Build and maintain a process for improving resource labeling in the cloud
Respond and act upon customer feedback related to BI reports
Daily monitoring of the cloud bill, provide summaries and recommendations
Build relationships across finance, technology and the business through excellent customer service and responsiveness
Skills & Software Requirements
Must be able to obtain FinOps Practitioner and GCP Digital Cloud Leader Certifications within 6 months of hire
Basic knowledge of the major hyperscalers, preferably Google Cloud
Strong Excel experience (or Google Sheets) including vlookups, pivot tables and graphics
Ability to work with large datasets and various visualization tools
Experience
Internships in related field and/or financial services companies preferred
Education
Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Computer Science
