Job Overview:
The Network Administrator will participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will also manage and resolve system hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end-user training where required. This position works with the Director of IT on the implementation of new technologies.
Working Condidtions:
Work will generally be performed using computer equipment in an indoor office environment. On-call and some after-hours work required. Sitting for extended periods. Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
Responsibilities
- Perform network design and capacity planning.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures of networks and systems.
- Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
- Provides second-level technical support to users concerning network system operations.
- Diagnoses problems with network equipment and performs equipment repair or upgrades when appropriate.
- Installs configures and maintains network cabling and other networking equipment such as hubs, switches, and UPS.
- Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network-connected end-user hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Works with System Administrators and Director in planning, installation, and documentation of network topology and Virtual environment.
- Deploy company LANs, WANs, WLAN, and WWAN including Firewalls, routers, switches, and other system hardware.
- Handles multiple project responsibilities simultaneously to prioritize work and resolve technical emergencies as they may occur.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned by the Director of IT.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- 5 years of networking experience, or a combination of education and experience.
- Expert level knowledge of networking of virtualized environments.
- Experience with hyperconverged networking and NSX-T or Datacenter a plus
- Expert level knowledge and administration of network and routing protocols
- Expert level knowledge and administration of enterprise networks with multiple VLANs
- Expert level knowledge and administration of switch configuration and programming
- Ability to install software and hardware on networking equipment and servers
- Familiarity with a variety of networking and personal computer software
- Ability to communicate information to end-users, and management in a clear and concise manner
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
- Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability and desire to work as a member of a team.
- CCNA, Network , VCTA-NV, Certifications are a plus.
