As the Hardware Engineering Manager, you'll oversee engineering assignments for all electrical hardware product development and product support functions that are assigned to the team. You'll have the opportuniy to build and manage a team of 10-20 hardware design engineers designing vehicle and precision electronics.
- Lead team to evaluate, review, and design new or enhanced products.
- Participate in development and execution of budgets, short-term plans, and long-term plans, policies, procedures, and initiatives. Ensure adherence to department budgets.
- Support all functions of the engineering process - including risk assessment, testing, and release of product.
- Work with project manager to assure accurate and timely completion of projects.
- Monitor and initiate improvement projects to current processes or policies.
- Identify key roles within the team required for project success.
- Monitor the demand for electrical engineering services and participate in planning processes to ensure adequate hardware resources are provided for the tasks.
- Develop, formulate, direct, and continuously improve engineering processes and procedures.
- Coordinate new product or product changes into the company.
- Coordinate the development of key engineering deliverables.
- Provide technical leadership, direction, feedback and mentoring to the mechanical design team and technical support to the internal teams.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of electrical engineering documentation.
This position pays-101,000-155,000 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of BS degree in electrical engineering, electronics or related technical field. MSEE or equivalent is preferred for this management position.
- Minimum 10 years related experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10 years of expertise and prior experience in designing electronic boards with embedded microcontrollers/microprocessors.
- 5 years in high-speed data network design.
- Prior experience leading teams effectively.
- Experience in mass production, working with both domestic and international suppliers and manufacturers.
