Human Resources Manager

Our plants are shipped daily 24/7 and year round. With 6 growing facilities all located in the Northeast, our corporate office is nestled amongst the beautiful farm fields of North Fork, Long Island, New York. We proudly and successfully provide plants and merchandising services to our customers from Maine to South Carolina and across to Ohio. We are currently looking for a HR Manager with past hands-on experience in all aspects of HR principles and best practices to be a part of the company’s long-term growth reporting directly to the CEO.
Responsibilities Include:
- Support management by providing human resources direction, advice and leadership
- Manage the recruitment, interview, selection, and hiring processes, including the negotiation of employment agreements with employees, sales reps and agents
- Oversee all areas of the employee benefits plans
- Manage employee relations, including grievances, disputes and disciplinary issues, minimizing disruption to operations and potential liability
- Oversee compliance with COVID regulations and policies, ensuring that the company is both protecting its employees and minimizing disruption to the business
- Lead company’s compliance with all existing and new Federal, State and local labor requirements
- Ensure timely and accurate weekly payroll processing
- Oversee the maintenance of employee records
- Design and direct training programs including safety and sexual harassment training
- Ability to use good judgment and confidentiality
- Supervise the HR/Payroll Assistant
- Weekends required during Peak Seasons
Qualifications Include:
- Professional and personable demeanor
- High energy, motivated and hard working
- A Bachelor's degree in human resources
- A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience leading an HR function
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, leadership and organization skills
- Strong analytical, reporting and project management skills
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
