We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team and provide excellent care to our animal patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the veterinarian and our LVTs in providing medical care, performing laboratory tests and procedures, administering medications, and providing general nursing care. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing care for animals
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Perform laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis
- Assist in obtaining x-rays
- Clean and maintain examination rooms and equipment
- Provide basic grooming services, such as bathing and nail trimming
- Monitor animals after procedures
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience working with animals
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and veterinary critical care, dentistry and surgery
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate pet owners effectively
- Ability to handle small animals of all sizes and temperaments safely and confidently

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

- Veterinary assistant: 2 years (Required)
Ability to Relocate:
