TASKS
The Quality Control Sensory Analyst evaluates flavor raw materials, intermediates and finished products versus their respective reference standards and makes QC decisions based on the comparisons.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Perform sensory valuation (taste, odor and color) of flavor raw materials, intermediates and finished products using official Symrise sensory analysis methods.
· Enters all relative evaluation data into SAP or other quality databases and informs the Supervisor when test results fail to conform to specifications.
· Communicate and interact as required, with Production, Technical Development and allied department personnel in matters requiring sensory expertise of raw materials, finished products and related process & product troubleshooting.
· Maintain, update and control organoleptic standards according to Quality Control SOP’s.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
· A: Conform to documented Roles and Responsibilities for this position
· B: Responsible for observing all Corporate and Departmental Food Safety Guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and Experience Requirements: (Either 1 or 2)
· AS in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field and 3 years’ experience performing sensory evaluation in a fragrance or flavor QC or R&D laboratory. Senior Analyst will have 5 year of experience.
· High school or equivalent diploma and 5 years’ experience in performing sensory evaluation in a fragrance or flavor QC or R&D laboratory.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· Able to accurately and consistently discern odor match quality versus a specified standard and interpret quality impact of perceived sensory differences.
· Able to determine priorities, organize resources and follow through on work timelines.
· Able to clearly and effectively communicate quality matters to divisional, operational, and external (e.g. vendors, customers) personnel in verbal or written form.
· Strong organizational ability with focused attention to detail
· Able to effectively develop and implement corrective actions supporting product quality, process efficiency and customer satisfaction.
· Proficient skills with Microsoft office, SAP and collateral QC computer systems
· Knowledge and proficient skills with SAP and collateral QC computer systems used by Symrise
· Knowledge of ISO-9001-2000, requirements as applicable to the Quality Control area.

Pay: $42,736.00 - $115,882.00 per year
