The Controller is responsible for maintaining accounting policies and procedures that ensure the highest level of efficiency, producing periodic financial reports, and maintaining appropriate internal controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the financial results and ensure reported results are in compliance with US GAAP. The position operates in a fast-paced, diverse and hands-on environment and requires effective staff management and delegation to achieve department objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Timely, complete, and accurate reporting of consolidated financial statements.
· Oversee and manage all accounting staff, inclusive of divisional Assistant Controllers, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cost accounting functions.
· Evaluating and enhancing financial controls.
· Maintain a high level of expertise with the company’s ERP system (Epicor).
· Interact with other department leaders to achieve company objectives.
· Provide financial analysis and other reports as needed.
· Documenting processes and ensuring compliance with financial management and accounting regulations.
· Coordinate the annual audit with external auditors.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent required.
· 5-7 years of related experience.
· Public accounting experience preferred.
· Knowledge and thorough understanding of US GAAP.
· Expertise with Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, lookup formulas, etc.
· Advanced competency and knowledge of ERP systems; Epicor experience a plus
· Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
· Excellent leadership, communication and collaboration skills.
Working Environment
· Generally works in an office environment, but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting.
Physical Requirements
· Must have a reliable form of transportation and ability to travel to other company locations.
· Flexibility to work extended hours when needed.
