At Cognizant Digital Engineering, a small cross functional team comprised of a Product Manager, an Architect, Full-Stack Developers, UI/UX designers and Big Data analysts builds higher quality software faster siloed individuals working independently. The Role:

Cognizant is looking for an experienced and innovative Java Architect to serve our diverse base of global clients. Location: Berkeley Heights, NJ USA, CLT

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and maintainable full stack applications using Java 17, React 18 and Spring Boot3
• Develop and maintain high-quality software solutions for the Cards & Payments industry, ensuring they meet business requirements and industry standards
• Utilize AWS cloud services effectively to deploy and manage applications, ensuring high availability and scalability
• Design and implement robust Restful APIs to facilitate seamless integration with other systems and services
• Apply best practices in software development, including Design Patterns, to enhance code quality and maintainability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical challenges
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation within the organization
• Ensure compliance with security protocols and data protection standards
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers to promote knowledge sharing and skill development
• Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget
• Analyze and interpret complex requirements, translating them into actionable development tasks
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by soliciting feedback and implementing changes to optimize development processes

Required Skills:

• 14-18 years of relevant work experience
• Must have extensive experience in Java 17, React 18, Spring Boot 3, Design Patterns, AWS, and Restful APIs
• Proven track record in the Cards & Payments domain, with a deep understanding of industry challenges and solutions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex issues
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, capable of working effectively in a team environment
• A commitment to quality and a thorough approach to work
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in leading projects and mentoring team members is highly desirable
