What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kafka Admin position at Cognizant?
Role & Skill set
1. Standing up and administering on-premises expertise in Kafka platform.
2. Provide expertise in Kafka brokers, zookeepers, Kafka connects, schema registry, KSQL, Rest proxy, and Kafka Control center.
3. Ensure the optimum performance, high availability, and stability of solutions
4. Create topics, setup redundancy cluster, deploy monitoring tools, alerts and has good knowledge of best practices
5. Provide administration and operations like provisioning, access lists Kerberos and SSL configurations
6. Use automation tools like provisioning using open shift, Docker, Chef, Jenkins, BB and RLM
7. Create Pipeline using Jenkins Pipeline (Groovy Scripting)
8. Strong in UNIX/LINUX Admin related tasks and Good to have knowledge of Scripting (Shell and Python)
9. Experience in DBMS which includes ORACLE, PLSQL
10. Deep understanding with ITIL/ITSM process and associated with Change, Incident and Configuration Management
11. Experience as Kafka Admin
12. Experience in writing Groovy script code in building pipeline
13. Experience and knowledge of common issues associated with RHEL Servers and strong verbal and written communication skills
