Roles & Responsibilities

A Senior Database Engineer to collaborate with our engineering team to ensure aligned execution of database related activities. SQL Developer with hands-on experience, experience in query optimization and SQL performance tuning, and trouble shooting. Good experience working with planning, creating, scheduling, and monitoring batch jobs using any scheduling/ monitoring tools like CA Autosys or IBM Tivoli. Have a flair for investigating database problems, performance issues, and evaluating best practices to ensure optimal performance on the platform.

Job duties:

• SQL coding, analysis, support, proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and design
• Designing and developing database code per business needs
• Troubleshooting challenging performance issues and developing proactive measures and trend analysis
• Monitoring database events and continuously optimizing system performance through troubleshooting and tuning
• Provide day-to-day support and maintenance for Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019 databases for our platform.
• Investigating potential problems and issues raised by users
• Work with engineering team to automate reactive procedures and promote rapid response to database issues
• Maintaining database configurations in compliance with established best practices

Desired Candidate:

• 10 years of Database Development experience supporting mission critical relational databases
• Considerable experience and knowledge of MS SQL 2016 or above and best practices
• Proficiency with OLTP Database Environments
• Programming experience with .NET is a big plus, but not required
• Full systems lifecycle experience (from requirements to delivery) of database projects
• Experience designing, building, installing, configuring, supporting, and maintaining high-volume, large database systems
• Experience managing SQL Server table partitioning
• Good troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
• Experience with database design and management aspects for various compliance programs
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently with limited supervision

Education: Bachelor’s in science engineering or equivalent.
