As a Quality Assurance Manager at Cognizant you will be responsible for leading and managing the quality assurance teams designated for testing and certifying fully functional software products catering to healthcare.
Job Title: Quality Testing Manager
Essential Functions:
- Leading and planning software testing efforts for product implementations, product upgrades, enhancements, defect fixes, and integration projects thereby ensuring software quality.
- Planning and supervising the work of a small-to medium-sized quality assurance (QA) team which includes test plans, test cases, test execution, test reporting, etc.
- Actively participating in the Agile software development process.
- Providing constructive feedback on process improvement at Agile (Scrum) team meetings and in sprint review sessions.
- Work with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Leadership, and other?stakeholders to help ensure backlog strategy and execution alignment
- Provide coaching and mentoring to Team members / Junior QAs
- Support team needs, including training, member growth, conflict resolution
- Participate, facilitate, and be active in Communities of Practice
- Actively contribute to the company’s Agile and Lean Community
- Work within the organization to establish and grow best practices and procedures, with a focus on improving ability of the organization to meet deliverables
- Review and participate in product backlog grooming sessions
Qualifications:
Education: Computer Science Degree or any related major
Required Experience:
- 8 years of experience in Software Testing and automation
- Minimum of one year of people management experience
- Experience in leading Scrum/Agile development teams
- Possess strong ability to tackle complex problems creatively, manage risk and influence rapid decision-making
- Team player and works well in large group environments
- Highly driven and motivated with a high level of initiative
Desired Experience:
- Health care industry experience
- Prior experience with Product owners on multiple teams and engagements
- Experience in testing tools and frameworks
- Experience in development language(s), e.g., C# or VB scripting
