Job Duties and Responsibilities:
This role focuses on the Assessment of the IT infrastructure, Oracle/SQL Server database Enterprise environment and creation of the implementation Road map to achieve Best in Class Transformation Themes and implementation of the same. Key aspect of this role is critical evaluation of the Applications, SQL Server and configurations to come up with Best in Class framework. SQL Server Architect is responsible for performance, availability and scalability of the SQL Server infrastructure to assess Operational Maturity, Design Maturity and Architectural Maturity. The candidate must provide high and detailed Low Level designs Oracle Database Technology Canidate must have architecture, implementation skills and combine technical intelligence with communication and presentation abilities. This candidate needs to have strong hands-on experience in Oracle multiple versions specially planning upgrades from older versions to current versions and understanding the impacts of deprecated SQL commands and other functions. This position requires candidate to do the specific device configuration of all Oracle target environments.
Candidate must be an individual contributor capable of self-directed work showing strong leadership and client relationship skills, focused on driving the complete network project.
Candidate must be able to assume ownership of assigned task/project and make relevant design decisions needed to provide requested deliverable based on client requirements that meet the CIS Technical Standards. Typically reports to supervisor and Program managers during project phase, Works with CIS Architecture Review Board. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. Works with overall Project management and timelines and communication. Will also provide a leadership role and individual contributor role for overall Oracle Database Projects.
Position Qualifications:

10-12 years of experience supporting Oracle databases

5 to 7 years of experience managing, creating, and deploying MS-SQL databases

Strong knowledge in Administration, Upgrades and Deployments of different versions of Oracle databases like 8i, 9i, 11g/12c/18c/19c/23c long term release

ASM configuration/Disk group management/Troubleshooting
-
GoldenGate/Data Guard, Oracle RAC & extended RAC architecture, configuration, and troubleshooting

MS-SQL Always On Availability Group architecture experience and migration experience

Demonstrated experience in architecting and management upgrades from older versions of Oracle to more current versions of Oracle safely and provide migration methodologies to minimize disruption

Oracle/MS-SQL Database Performance and Tuning issues

RMAN/ other Database Backup and Recovery Solutions
-
Analysis of ASH/ADDM/AWR Reports and provide recommendations

Oracle Database Partitioning

Oracle patching activities for standalone and RAC databases

Oracle logical refreshes
-
PL/SQL statements tuning both updates and selects and embedded SQL stored procedures

Basic troubleshooting knowledge about backup tools like Commvault/networker etc.

DDL/DML script managements

User management/profile management/role management etc.

Connectivity and access issues troubleshooting

Oracle client installation and configuration client Listeners and port on windows/Unix

Excellent communications skills and very comfortable with defining and adhering to strong process management activities
Home office with space ability to do WebEx, Teams or Zoom meetings with minimal disruption.

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until 7/16/2024
The annual salary for this position is between [$52,000] - [$120,000] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
