What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Tech II position at Coherent, Inc.?
- Conducts examinations and quality control inspections on products, materials and components at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards
- Performs visual inspections blanks, hardware, uncoated and coated optics of various sizes
- Creates detailed surface maps during process.
- Prepares and completes all necessary documentation for reporting acceptance/rejection of inspected and/or tested items
- Participate in the investigation of failures and the formulation and implementation of action plans for all internal corrective actions and audit findings
- Support technicians and engineers.
- Able to read and understand optical component drawings
- Ensure that non-conforming product is appropriately identified and segregated according to standard procedures, assist in the disposition of product
- Understands ISO/DIN/Mil-Specification Inspection and testing requirements and able to create Inspection and testing plans
- Skilled at measuring and using test equipment as prescribed by job assignment
- Capable of following instructions and applying processes and procedures to standard routine tasks
- Must be able to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions, including engineering drawings, charts, diagrams, and sketches
Education and Work Experience:
- 3-5 years’ experience inspecting, cleaning, and packaging optics.
- Ability to follow established job instructions and procedures with minimal supervision
- Able to apply a systematic QA approach while using existing procedures to solve a range of technical issues
- Proficient computer skills
- US citizenship required
