A mid sized law firm is seeking an in house Controller, managing all aspects of accounting and finance activities including maintenance of financial systems and reporting applications as well as mentoring and managing staff including Billing Manager, Billing Coordinator, and Accounts Receivable & Payable Clerk
- Responsibilities
- Manage the firms billing process, bank transactions, and transfers
- Monitor procedure for capturing accrual data
- Review 401(k), FSA, and Transit Center activity
- Monitor & Review Resolve Star activity, procedure and data capture for follow up
- Comprehensive accounts receivable analysis and monthly general ledger review
- Collections (follow up on over 120 days A/R)
- Review electronic uploaded billing data
- Detailed Trial Balance
- File Commercial Rent Tax
- Review Unum - LTD Monthly Billing
- Review tax returns for estimated payments
- Track various financial data analysis and ad hoc reporting
- Process payroll semi-monthly
- Attorney Billing Summary
- Client Analysis Report’s
- Accounts Receivable and WIP Report
- Internal Financial Statement- Balance Sheet and P&L Income Statement - Quarterly Financial Review with Partners

- Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field
- Ideal candidate has 5 to 7 years of experience in field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license required
- Previous experience as an accountant, accounting supervisor, or manager
- Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite;
- Access, database, or other system knowledge
- Proficiency with accounting software and experience with a software system implementation
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost
- control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
- Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations
- Attention to detail
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
