What are the responsibilities and job description for the AP/AR Clerk position at Coinstar?
Coinstar is the global leader in coin recycling and redemption. Beyond coin, Coinstar has been expanding into other products that enable cash-preferred or underbanked consumers to digitize their currency and transact online.
As an AP/AR Coordinator, you will work closely with the Lead AP Coordinator to ensure on-time payments to vendors. This position supports both the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions of Coinstar’s Accounting Operations department and is responsible for creating invoices, recording cash receipts, and maintaining the aged receivables report.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Monitor PO and non-PO invoices throughout the automated AP workflow.
- Resolve errors and exceptions to ensure timely processing.
- Verify vendor addresses and submit vendor change forms as needed.
- Submit new vendor requests and obtain W9 information.
- Reconcile vendor statements and request copies of invoices that are not processed.
- Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers.
Accounts Receivable
- Prepare invoices and distribute to customers.
- Record cash receipts and apply to open receivables.
- Prepare aged receivable reports and distribute to internal business partners.
- Perform AR-related account reconciliations as part of month-end close.
Education & Experience
- High School Degree or GED is required. Bachelors's in related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- 3 years experience working in a full-cycle, high-volume AP department.
- Experience in GL coding and understanding expenses is preferred.
- Experience in reconciliations is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to identify differences between receipt of goods and an invoice.
- Process large quantities of data for multiple companies, both quickly and accurately, and with a high degree of flexibility and customer service.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Skills in creating Excel spreadsheets is preferred.
- Problem-solving and attention to detail.
