Job Summary
An inside sales representative at United Rock Products plays a crucial role in driving the company's sales within the construction and aggregate industry. Their primary duties include identifying and prospecting potential customers, building strong relationships with existing and new clients, and providing them with valuable product information and technical assistance. By understanding customer needs, the inside sales representative can effectively recommend the most suitable aggregate products to meet those needs. They are responsible for generating sales leads, following up on inquiries, and providing tiered price quotations. Additionally, the inside sales representative, will assist customers and credit manager reconcile invoices by researching tickets and resolving errors. The inside sales representatives will also be responsible for providing quotations from sales quoting software and ensuring accurate orders in accounting software (JWS).
This role will also handle order processing and coordinate product deliveries to ensure customer satisfaction. Collaboration with the outside sales team is essential to meet sales targets and stay updated on industry trends, products, and competitors. Main Responsibilities
- Identifying and prospecting potential customers within the construction industry (aggregates, inert fill and asphalt).
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and new clients.
- Providing product knowledge, technical assistance, and solutions to customers.
- Understanding customer needs and recommending appropriate construction materials.
- Generating sales leads and following up on inquiries.
- Conducting product presentations and demonstrations.
- Preparing and presenting sales proposals and quotes.
- Processing orders and coordinating product deliveries.
- Collaborating with the outside sales team to meet sales targets.
- Monitor and research weekly Dodge Construction leads-send leads to appropriate sales team members.
- Monitor and research weekly municipalities websites within our market for upcoming projects-send leads to appropriate sales team members
- Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, products, and competitors.
- Maintaining accurate sales records and CRM databases – currently Mobile Sales and JWS (subject to change)
- Working with customers and Sully-Miller credit manager to resolve billing and invoicing issues; particularly in providing back-up and tickets to customers as needed
- Providing excellent customer service and addressing any customer issues or complaints.
- Participating in sales meetings, trainings, and conferences.
- Contributing to the development of sales strategies and marketing initiatives.
- Duties included here are not all inclusive and company reserves right to assign other duties as it deems necessary.
Education and Experience
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field may be preferred, but is not always mandatory.
Experience:
- 3 to 5 years previous experience in inside sales or a related customer service role is often preferred.
- Experience in the construction industry or familiarity with construction materials is highly valued’ particularly aggregates, inert fill and asphalt.
- Knowledge of construction terminology, products, and processes is advantageous.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas.
- Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with customers.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools; specifically Mobile Sales and/or JWS
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
