Job Summary
Midland Asphalt Materials Inc., a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers’ needs.
We are currently looking for a Plant Laborer in our Bloomsburg, PA facility. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Plant Laborer is responsible for various duties ensuring maximum safety, production, and productivity, including general maintenance, loading and unloading trucks.
Main Responsibilities
- General labor duties associated with asphalt and emulsions manufacturing
- General maintenance around the facility (using both hand and power tools)
- Load and unload trucks, move pallets with forklift
- Scaling trucks
- Daily inventory activities
- Maintain the terminal through cleaning and painting
- Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the terminal operations
Requirements and Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Mechanical experience a plus
- Must be proficient in math, computer and communication skills
- Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines
- Regularly required to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
- Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Standing / working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
- Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
- Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
