Colchester School District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Drama Director at Colchester Middle School. This is a part-time, after-school position paid by a stipend. The Drama Director runs the after-school drama program, including choosing a play, casting, and holding rehearsals for CMS students. The auditions begin mid-November with an April/May show date.GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Drama Coach is responsible to the Building Principal for the performance of the duties outlined below and any other duties which may be required by the building Principal.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: On an annual basis, salary is prescribed within the Teacher Master Agreement with the Board of Education. CLASSIFICATION: Fair Labor Standards Act Exempt.REPORTS TO: Building PrincipalEVALUATION: Evaluation to be done at the end of the year by the Building Principal or their designee.SUPERVISES: Student ParticipantsQUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge and interest in the activity to be advised.
- Demonstrated successful experience in working with students/adolescents.
- Strong skills in interpersonal relations, problem-solving, and teamwork.
- Commitment to the school districts mission and Strategic Plan.
- Enlist participants through announcements, general publicity, and/or appropriate means.
- Supervise all practices and/or meetings of the assigned group.
- Plan and produce the events sponsored by the organization.
- Assume responsibility for all funds and accounts related to the assigned group.
- Ensure that all participants follow the rules and regulations of the school district and conduct themselves in a respectable manner at all times.
- Provide the Building Principal with an evaluation and/or summary of your groups activities at the end of each school year or season.
- Assume other responsibilities related to this co-curricular activity assigned by the Building Principal.
