Role Description:

Cold Bore Technology is seeking an Engineering Technologist to join our growing team. Reporting to the Director of Hardware, you will be responsible for designing and testing equipment for the field and investigating failures and incidents for incoming and outgoing equipment. This role is an opportunity for a self-starter to grow their experience in the exciting world of high tech, working with some of the smartest people in the industry to revolutionize completions through IIoT smart technology. Responsibilities:

• Designing electronic equipment for the Operations and Hardware team.
• Schematic capture and PCB layout of electronic circuits using Altium Designer.
• Working with manufacturing to prototype and test initial run of electronics equipment.
• Component symbol and footprint creation using proper design principles and practices.
• Plan and execute Design Validation tests on prototype equipment.
• Assist the maintenance and repair team with troubleshooting hardware problems.
• Lead investigations on non-conformant equipment.
• Provide feedback to the hardware development team and/or design solutions for issues discovered through equipment testing and use.
   

Requirements:

• Experience with Altium Designer or similar circuit design software.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Electronics design.
• Relevant Technology Degree or Diploma is required.
• Association of Science & Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET) certification in good standing.
• Soldering capability with surface mount components.
• Strong attention to detail is required.
• Experienced using electronic test equipment such as Digital Multi Meters and Oscilloscopes.
• Oilfield experience is considered an asset.
• Experience with equipment used in a hazardous location is considered an asset.
