Job Title : Associate, Warehouse
Reports To : Supervisor, Warehouse
Position Location : Franklin, MA
FLSA Status : Non-Exempt
Key Responsibilities :
- Creates entries and maintains an electronic log of outgoing / incoming packages.
- Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock, including transfer / transactions of materials to internal departments as needed.
- Maintain clean and organized loading dock and department, including all necessary labels, equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Ensure that all packaging and shipments are compliant with current 49-CFR IATA regulations.
- Complete, print, and ensure accurate necessary shipping, customer, quality documentation for both domestic and international shipments are included.
- Support and comply with the Quality Management System and Safety Program
- Notify department supervisor of any safety hazards.
- Complete end of day checklist
- Train new associates as assigned.
- Calculate domestic and international freight quotes for both hazardous and non-hazardous items.
- Coordinate pickup times and tracking with carriers and customer service.
- Accurate pulling, labeling, checking, and packing of customer orders according to customer specific requirements, including international customers.
- Use of electronic Inventory Management System including maintenance, transactions, reporting, cycle counting, overall electronic inventory management.
- Use of Hazardous materials / Dangerous Goods software and special service websites to prepare shipping documents (Certifications / Shipper’s Export Declarations)
- Clean and organize workstation daily.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education :
High School diploma, General Education Degree, or equivalent preferred.
Experience :
- 6 months - 2 year experience in assembly, inventory, or warehouse function.
- Shipping / Receiving Experience a plus.
- Knowledge and use Fedex, DHL, UPS shipping programs to process shipments a plus.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications :
- Basic math comprehension
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere.
- Computer skills in Microsoft, Excel, and Word as well as current shipping / receiving databases.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, efficiently works under pressure, within deadlines or other time essential constraints.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; to communicate to all levels of the organization clearly and concisely.
- Strong work ethic and an ability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization.
- Willing to work overtime when needed to meet the demand of the schedule.
- Able to read and comprehend electronic Standard Operating Procedures in English via computer.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions :
- Control exposures to hazardous chemicals and other safety hazards such as : CarcinogensSharp and dangerous blades.Biohazard exposure to specimens
- Lifting of up to 50 lbs. daily.
- Ability to climb ladders (up to 10ft)
- Ability to pass Dangerous Goods certification every two years.
- Position may involve using scissor lifts and forklifts (training provided).
