Job Title: Support Engineer
Location: Redmond, WA
Pay Range: $30/hr to $35/hr
Basic qualifications:
• 5 years experience PCBA modification, cable harness fabrication, and test of prototype hardware for aerospace, consumer, automotive, or networking infrastructure
• Experience with PCBA rework including fine (SMT0402 and SMT0201), hand soldering of electronic components and following schematics
• Experience with common electronics test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, etc.)
• Experience sourcing lab supplies and components
Preferred qualifications:
• Degree in related field
• IPC Certification J-STD-001, J-STD-001 Space Addendum, IPC-A-620 and IPC-7711/7721
• Experience managing external partners for PCB manufacturing
• Proven track record of delivering results on time.
• Experience in development of space based systems.
• Experience working in aerospace manufacturing.
• Well-developed communication skills with the ability to review and develop written instructions; document work performed, and follow up with engineers and management as required.
Daily tasks performed:
• Follow ESD safe protocols and safe handling technique when handling sensitive electronic assemblies.
• Provide mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers with tooling and consumables for design, debug, and test.
• Perform circuit board inspection, circuit rework/modification, cable harness fabrication, electronic box assembly, and electrical signal measurement.
• Assemble first article electronic test racks, test fixtures, and associated wiring.
• Perform first article conformal coat/staking inspections and document discrepancies.
• Review pre-release work instructions and provide recommendations for improved work definition.
• Maintain EE Dev Lab: solder stations, order/stock consumables, track assets, and monitor/update/close EHD Jira tickets.
• Validate and maintain ESD work benches and ESD protected areas (EPA’s).
• Identify and address safety issues in the lab.
