About the Team
The Content Operations & Engineering team is a close knit, dedicated group of professionals with a passion for digital content strategy, management, and design. We empower internal content creators to craft and deliver effective content consistently and at scale, with the belief that great digital products rely on great content experiences. We work with cross-functional product teams to deliver high quality digital products and services for BigFuture and College Board.
About the Opportunity
As a Content Engineer you’ll help to define the content strategy, data flows, and delivery framework for digital solutions in our BigFuture portfolio. You are a key member of a digital product team, working alongside software engineers, UX and UI designers, researchers, creative strategists, and fellow content engineers, among others. Your work accelerates our efforts to be the top destination for students and their families who come to BigFuture and College Board for guidance in setting a vision for their future. You’ll help these students and College Board make those goals more attainable.
In this role, you will:
Data Mapping and Integration (50%)
· Develop a level of subject matter expertise on educational and demographic datasets from multiple sources
· Develop and document data normalization and mapping across datasets from multiple sources, for use in BigFuture digital applications
· Support data architecture solutions to meet technical and business requirements
Content Strategy and Design (25%)
· Synthesize user needs and business requirements to contribute to a clear, scalable strategy for deploying information about colleges and careers in all forms—text, media, and data—across our digital products
· Determine when and how to leverage the use of structured content and implement content management solutions to support delivery of key information to our users
Content Management and Workflow (25%)
· Contribute to the development of workflows and processes for creating and maintaining the content of the product over time
· Be the voice of the content creator at College Board, ensuring that content workflows, lifecycles, and supporting tools are sustainable over the life of the product
About You
You have:
· 3–5 years’ experience designing content or data models and workflows for digital products
· Experience using an enterprise content management system like Drupal is a plus
· Excellent problem-solving skills, including using data to inform recommendations
· Strong verbal and written communication skills, and an ability break down complex concepts for a non-technical audience using data, words, and visualizations
· Strong negotiation skills and a willingness to collaborate and find middle ground
· A self-starter mentality—you enjoy getting into the weeds and untangling complex ecosystems
· Proven ability to build relationships and influence others to action
