Mailroom Associate
Collegiate Press has been providing management solutions to Colleges and Universities for over 30 years. Qualified candidates will possess the ability to:
- Sorts, posts, and re-directs mail for internal and external deliveries
- Operates postage meters and scales
- Maintains postage meter account
- Uses system software and national directories to sort mail by destination, classification, and weight.
- Disseminates information regarding postal procedures and regulations
- Prepares packages and mail, including bulk mailings, for delivery and distribution
- Provides consultation to customers on how to send out mailings
- Assists with the chargeback of campus departments for postage and packages
- Prepares packages for shipment by using carrier management shipping software, and sets up new users for online accounts.
- Assist in preparation of reports for client and management
- Ability to move packages, and lift packages up to 50lbs.
- All other related functions as deemed necessary
- May be assigned occasional overtime, weekend hours, rotating or split shifts as operational or project timelines require
Experience and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or some college or trade education preferred
- 1 year (minimum) of customer service experience
- 1 year (minimum) of previous mail center or related experience
- Experience using postage scales or mailing machines
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients and college students (clients and staff)
- Experience with (meter type) and (package tracking) systems
- Customer service oriented
- Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
- Able to work to agreed parameters and understand and follow instructions
- Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Able to lift packages up to 50lbs.
- Agree to submit to a background screening
- PC skills required
