Position Summary:

Do you love travel and storytelling? Are you someone who’s energized by creating marketing materials that inspire, connect, and inform travelers about worldwide experiences that could change their lives? The Collette Creative team is looking for a full-time Art Director who can collaborate with project owners to create extremely engaging, fun marketing pieces across all platforms to support business needs and elevate our brand to audiences. The Art Director must have a thorough understanding of brand positioning and the psychology needed in appealing to the customer as well as what influences purchasing decisions. This individual will continue to evolve the Collette identity system in a way that allows flexibility through templates and more for different products and Travel Styles, audiences, and collateral – creating an agility and responsiveness that keeps our marketing relevant and on-brand.

This individual must be able to concept, design, and direct photography for brochures, print collateral, social media, and digital/web. We are looking for someone who is passionate about bringing ideas to life on time, all the time. This individual will lead a talented team of designers and collaborate closely with our dynamic copywriting team (as well as the broader Marketing team and key stakeholders) so that Collette’s brand position is aligned, inspiring and aspirational – drawing new travelers through our multi-media, multi-channel marketing efforts. Primary Functions:

• Creatively respond to requests to produce marketing deliverables based on creative/project briefs. Collaborate with department team members to ensure all work meets expected goals.
• Must have a strong understanding of design. Will take a proactive approach using professional judgment to anticipate internal and external concerns and maintain a level of flexibility to quickly respond to changing business needs. Is the decision maker responsible for the quality of the finished product.
• Responsible for managing graphic designers, assigning workload accordingly.
• Oversee all travel styles and guidelines for the Collette brand, continuously evolving their marketplace distinction.
• Will help select any outside talent necessary for projects, including in-region photographers.
• Strong partnership and shared vision with Marketing leadership, as well as Product and Sales.
• Attend and lead creative meetings and job openings.
• Take ownership, lead initiatives, and successfully execute through all stages of creative development on-target, on-time, and on-budget.

Knowledge and Skills:

• This position requires a strong creative talent who is also a hands-on implementer and requires an individual comfortable functioning at both the management level as well as the functional level.
• Bachelor’s Degree in design, Master’s preferred.
• 7 years design experience, must have some experience in a direct-to-consumer business.
• InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop experience required.
• Experience directing photography.
• Experience presenting/pitching creative concepts
• Experience managing designers and outside talent
• Organizational skills, adaptability, and composure under fire are necessary
• Portfolio review required.
