Electronics Systems Engineer Lead (Onsite)

The Electronics Systems Engineer (Lead) will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of the interior aircraft electrical systems through all the phases of the project including preliminary design, development, certification, and product support.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Define, plan, and develop systems level requirements to define embedded electronic systems for aircraft interiors.
• Create and execute verification test plans for electronic systems based on the defined requirements.
• Trouble shoot embedded electronic systems and recommend solutions to electronic and system development teams.
• Ability to utilize oscilloscopes and multimeters to determine power consumption and dissipation in full assemblies
• Experience using communication protocols such as CAN BUS and RS485 to determine requirement are meet and diagnose failures.
• Interface with suppliers to ensure components technical requirements are met to support project development need dates.
• Capable to read C programming language and make small modifications to existing code to recreate problems or for test versions.
• Direct Interaction with Aircraft OEM Electrical Engineers and customers to ensure design meets aircraft and customer defined requirements.
• Preparation and presentation of technical data in design reviews
• Review and create Qualification Test Plans, Procedures and Reports
• Ability to work independently and within a multi-functional team environment.
• Knowledge of Requirements Management in an Engineering context

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
• Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR
• In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
• Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS in Electrical / Electronic Engineering and/or computer science.
• 8 more years of experience in a technical engineering role working with embedded electronics.
• Good interpersonal skills, ability to work well within and outside of the organization including customers, vendors, and leadership with minimal oversight.
• Basic C programming
• Electrical circuit analysis.
• Knowledge in the use of SysML for System Modelling across a full engineering lifecycle
• Agile development knowledge
• FMEA and FMECA experience
• Actuation system development
• CAN BUS protocol
• Knowledge of RTCA/DO-160, RTCA/DO-178 and RTCA/DO-254 processes is a plus.
• Simulink with code generation
