01: Building 01 Windsor Locks One Hamilton Road, Windsor Locks, CT, 06096 USAThe Airframe and Global Engine Controls (AGEC) Product Manager within the Digital Controls product line will be responsible for all aspects of AGEC controller products including execution, sustaining activities, strategic planning, technology, and resource development. The Product Manager will lead a team of Project, Electrical Design and Systems Software engineers and will be responsible for developing, certifying and supporting Digital Controls for Flight Control Computers, Weapon Management Systems, Vehicle Management Systems and Full Authority Digital Engine Controls. This individual will also have responsibility for the staffing and development of the product engineering team.
Further, this individual will be engaged in developing the processes, methods and organizational health of the Digital Controls team working closely with the other Product Managers. Primary responsibilities associated with the development of these electronic products include at a minimum the following major responsibilities:
- Oversee multiple integrated product development teams through Preliminary Design, Detail Design, and Verification and Validation
- Lead Digital Controls proposal activities for new business capture
- Support operations and field service for products in the sustaining phase
- Establish, manage and track project plans for the program tasks
- Manage project cost, schedule and staffing
- Identify, manage, and mitigate any program risks
- Lead IPD teams through the proper technical design reviews and program passports
- Present to Executive Management as well as Customer representatives
- Travel to customers and suppliers as needed
- Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations
- Management responsibility including:
- Mentoring
- Associate development
- Outsourcing oversight
- Resource planning
- Strategic planning
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience OR
- Advance degree and 8 years of relevant experience OR
- In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and 10 years of relevant experience OR
- Advance degree from an accredited institution and 8 years of relevant experience OR
- In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
- Must be a US Person (This Includes Green Card Holders)
- A minimum of five years of supervisory experience leading engineering and/or technical support teams
- A minimum of ten years of experience in various aspects of technical support of related products
- Familiarity with electronic controls, systems software and project management
- Should have expertise in product development and production of electronic equipment
- Must have strong planning skills and be familiar with earned value management
- Should have the ability to apply engineering experience to analyze hardware failures, recommend corrective action, conduct engineering investigations and develop/conduct tests
- Excellent verbal and written skills are critical along with the ability to work/lead in a cross functional team environment
- Track record of meeting scope, schedule and budget commitments and demonstrated ability to work well in cross functional IPD environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An advanced degree from an accredited institution is preferred but not required
- Aerospace industry or related experience is highly preferred
