Due to the portfolio growth within our Sensors Engineering team at our Burnsville location, we are seeking an experienced professional in the field of software engineering management. If you are that candidate, you will work in the Integrated Air Data Systems team within the Sensor Systems business and support the pursuit, development, qualification, and field support of aerospace sensors and systems. You will work in tandem with another software engineering manager to manage a team of 20-25 software engineers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coaching and mentoring a team of software engineers
  • Supporting the software discipline council in developing best practices, processes, and procedures.
  • Ensuring that your engineering team has the skills and tools available to develop embedded sensors.
  • Working with the customer to understand new project requirements and create competitive bid estimates to win new projects.
  • Partner with project leads to meet active project staffing needs and build a successful team to complete the project on time and on budget.
  • Perform timecard monitoring and be expected to give positive and constructive feedback while developing team members.

The successful candidate will:

  • Understand all phases of safety critical embedded software development and preferably DO-178C DAL A software development.
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, operations, quality, and supply chain
  • Focus on continuous improvement to improve quality or reduce costs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

Must be US Citizen or US person

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior people leadership experience
  • Experience working within a highly regulated environment
  • Prior Aerospace and/or medical device background

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
