About the Position:
The Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) Systems Administrator will be a part of a small, cohesive team with dynamic responsibilities that include managing physical and virtual infrastructure, supporting systems and data center critical infrastructure. The DCIM Sys Admin will coordinate and oversee monthly maintenance on all machines ensuring all systems are fully up to date with all necessary patches. A strong understanding of DCIM systems role in keeping critical infrastructure operational is required.
What you do daily:
- Responsible for the management and administration of 50 physical servers, 100 virtual machines and additional DCIM related network and computing equipment located in multiple data centers
- Interface daily with DCIM team to determine new deployments, pending migrations and provide update for system statuses
- Architect and build virtual infrastructure including physical server deployments and virtual switch and network interface configuration
- VMware implementation and support
- Create and administer routine maintenance plans for all DCIM systems and applications
- Prepare and maintain DCIM systems support documentation, test plans, and change management records.
- Maintain positive relationships and communication with staff and management
- Participate in on-call rotation and extended work hours as necessary
- Up to 10% Travel Required
What makes you a good fit: (Qualifications)
- BS in Technology or Computer Science related field or equivalent professional experience
- Working knowledge of virtual server infrastructure required
- VMWare experience and certifications desired
- 5 years of experience in a DCIM or critical systems/infrastructure environment
- Understanding of Modbus, SNMP, BACnet, TCP/IP communication protocols a plus
- Knowledge and/experience with DCIM Software and MSQL Databases encouraged
- Knowledge of supporting systems and processes including backup/recovery, OD patching, monitoring
