Summary/Objective
The Marketing Manager manages the Colonial Chemical Marketing Team and is responsible for all marketing and communication efforts for Colonial Chemical, Inc. This person will accelerate growth of the company in the market segments and geographies in which Colonial Chemical is active by emphasizing Colonial Chemical's unique product line and technical expertise.
Colonial Chemical Inc. is based out of South Pittsburg, TN with subsidiaries in the United Kingdom and Netherlands. The Marketing Manager develops strategies for increasing Colonial brand awareness in the USA, UK and EU markets. The Marketing Manager also communicates with key distribution partners in other international geographies to support industry events, product promotions and technical seminars.
Colonial Chemical has a joint-venture manufacturing company in Saudi Arabia, Colonial Chemical Middle East. The Marketing Manager coordinates closely with management of Colonial Chemical Middle East to ensure consistent messaging and marketing collateral for both corporate entities.
The Marketing Manager works with Colonial's Technical Business Managers to establish product launch plans and create relevant marketing content and webinars for sales, distribution partners and customers.
The Marketing Manager is responsible for the marketing budget of Colonial Chemical, which includes maintaining the website and making decisions on which trade shows and industry events to support. Trade shows and industry events play a key role in marketing activities at Colonial Chemical. The Marketing Manager collects analytical data from the website and trade shows to drive future marketing decisions around advertising, promotions and marketing spend.
The Marketing Manager leads the marketing department in the creation of literature, campaigns and promotion, and other needs dictated by sales and R&D.
Essential Functions

- Work with Business Managers to develop product marketing plans and adhere to product launch plans and schedule. Support product launches with continuous information flow to customers, sales and distribution channels.
- Manage Colonial's marketing efforts to maximize lead generation and build industry-specific contact list databases.
- Ensure that Colonial Chemical has a best-industry marketing and communications program.
- Establish meaningful analytical measures and KPI's for marketing efforts such as trade shows, advertising, and product launches.
- Increase awareness of Colonial products in key geographies in the USA and internationally
- Coordinate marketing efforts with Colonial Chemical Middle East
- International travel to trade shows may be required.
- Manage social media presence of Colonial Chemical
- Manage press releases and be the primary press contact for Colonial Chemical
Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises the Marketing Coordinator.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time exempt position; days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This position is based in Colonial Chemical Headquarters and is not a remote or hybrid-work position. Some international and domestic travel may be required.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, chemistry or related field
- A successful candidate may have a technical background, provided they have 5 years' experience in marketing positions.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Previous experience managing a marketing team.
- Marketing experience would preferably be in a manufacturing or otherwise B2B industry.
- Strong Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud skills
- Experience managing a corporate website that is product/technology intensive.
- Experience storing, maintaining, and updating mailing lists for customers and prospects.
- Experience in all aspects of trade shows
Salary : $85,000 - $105,000
