What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional General Manager position at Colony Hardware?
Description
- Manage the performance management, coaching, and development of the region, including Regional Managers, Branch Managers, and General Managers, and ensures achievement of branch sales goals as well as regional growth.
- Work to develop new and existing opportunities for Colony to achieve sales objectives with the region continuously.
- Communicate strategic plans constantly for incremental sales growth in each branch in the region.
- Participate in the transition of acquisition branches to the Colony culture and operations, monitors progress, and offer assistance as required.
- Address and resolve performance management issues with the Managers for all employees and track the progress of performance.
- Prepare an annual budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions as necessary to keep objectives on track with P&L growth and sales results.
- Actively works with branch personnel including joint sales calls, product training, etc.
- Drive compliance with Colony processes and procedures, DOT, OSHA, and material handling equipment.
- Assess the marketing potential of new and existing store/branch locations, considering statistics and expenditures.
- Monitor competitor movements, pricing patterns, major employee issues, etc., and report back to senior leadership.
- Evaluate the potential of products, services, technologies, and resources to ensure the company is providing the best products in the industry.
- Recommend product lines to Senior Management by identifying new product opportunities, being acutely aware of customer needs and trends.
- Work effectively with the support departments in headquarters such as Human Resources, Marketing, Finance, Rental and Repair, Sales, etc. with a “one company, one team” attitude.

- High School Degree
- A College degree in a business or related field preferred
- 10 years experience in branch management in a distribution or similar industry.
- Valid driver's license with a sustained record of safe driving.
- Experience with various computer applications including ERP systems, order entry, inventory, and Excel.
- Experience managing budgets and P&L.
