JOB TITLE: Assistant Safety Director
Basic Function
Responsible to the Safety Director for maintaining the safety program for the entire company.
Required Qualifications
Broad knowledge of all phases of the general technical field of an electric utility as well as some knowledge of a general business nature. . Experience in the electric utility industry is preffered. Must have a broad knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws and regulations.
Must have or be able to obtain a valid Colorado driver's license Class A CDL.
Job Requirements
Wide variety of duties involving general knowledge of company procedures within scope of responsibilities and their application to cases not previously covered. Duties require considerable judgment to work independently toward general results, devising new methods of modifying standard procedures to meet new conditions.
Receives general direction from the Safety Director and works toward specific objectives. Employee plans and arranges own work, rarely refers specific problems to the Safety Director unless clarification or interpretation of objectives is involved.
Outside and inside contacts require a degree of diplomacy and judgment with the ability to deal with persons in all types of positions.
May be required to interact with customers and the public regarding company safety policies.
Portions of the job are confidential in nature and the employee is expected to keep appropriate material private.
Working conditions are primarily outside, including possible isolated work areas. There may be possible exposure to adverse weather conditions. Extensive hours in a vehicle may be required to drive to job sites.
This job requires normal mental and visual attention. The duties and tasks involve mainly sedentary work and may require the ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds.
Does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities but may be called on to direct the activities of an employee or on a job site should an emergency situation arise.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Assistant Safety Director
Duties and Tasks
1. Documents and ensures safety procedures for all employees are being followed.
2. Trains employees on safety procedures.
3. Stays current on appropriate Federal, State and local safety laws.
4. May act as lead person on any accident investigation involving a company employee.
5. Visits work sites on a regular basis to interact with employees and monitor employees’ adherence to proper company procedures.
6. Inspects rubber goods to ensure that they are in proper working order.
7. Maintains Commercial Driver’s License documentation on appropriate employees.
8. May notify employees selected for random drug testing.
9. Performs all other duties as directed.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
