Summary: Under remote supervision, this position tactically executes assigned facility’s Information Technology function to support the overall planning, organizing and execution of all IT functions. Actively supports the location’s technology to ensure it meets IT goals and objectives efficiently and reliably. Works closely with plant leadership, users, and the technology team to help determine the best way possible to meet the technology needs of the facility including the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides daily administration of plant-wide server management, network administration, and network security. Performs troubleshooting and resolution of IT related failures as required. Tactically performs the installation, maintenance and support of network hardware and software, including LANs, WANs, network segments, internet, and intranet systems. Supports the evaluation assessment and modification of the network and system to maximize the facility’s system performance. Helps to deliver high availability solutions and disaster recovery testing.
- Facility responsibility for Network Administration, including hands-on involvement in network routing, switching, and the administration of firewalls, Internet VPN’s and problem resolution. Functional familiarity with Windows 7 Pro and Microsoft Office 2010/13/16, Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard, Exchange 2010, and SQL 2008 R2/2014 R2. Assists in the maintenance of security of all data and helps ensure a complete backup of all computer systems in case of system failure or disaster.
- Works with the IT Team system-wide to support infrastructure components like Firewalls, Load Balancers and Switches (including the Firewall Zones, DMZ, VLAN, Routing, Application and Load Balancing etc.). Helps map customer business requirements at their facility into complete information systems (technologies, processes, and people) or operational solutions.
- Works in a consultative fashion with other department heads across the facility, such as operations, shipping, technical services, human resources and sales as an advisor of technologies that may improve their efficiency and effectiveness.
- Understands the facility’s business problems, needs, or opportunities and assists in the development of solutions that address the business problem, need, or opportunity. Assists in translating the company’s technical vision and into an executable process at the facility. Fulfill the role of a business relationship manager to assist in the direction, analysis, definition, prioritization of the business requirements at the facility. Provide support to the Director Information Technology for forecasting the IT budget and planning.
- Responsible for performing the procurement, installation and maintenance of all hardware and software (as approved) and all other products and supplies necessary to keep IT systems operable and to fulfill requested support at the location. Acts as a support liaison between vendors and location management for informational updates and problem resolution.
- Helps ensure the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by maintaining and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions across the facilities IT platforms. Assist in the creation, maintenance and enforcement of written policies and procedures regarding all computer operations in the information technology department and throughout the organization.
Education/Experience:
- Associate degree in Information Technology, software engineering or a related field, and a minimum 2 years of experience, or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, and knowledge of industry product reporting systems.
- Ability to plan and conduct product launches, data collection, and interpretation of results to drive program and technical knowledge forward, supporting established action plans, risk assessments, and contingency planning.
- Ability to assist in solving a wide range of complex, multi-disciplinary problems that must consider facility-wide planning.
- Aptitude to improve existing systems or procedures that periodically result in new ideas or approaches of considerable significance.
- Functional critical thinking and root cause analysis. Must understand the basic use of statistics to control manufacturing processes. Supports improvements to existing systems or procedures that periodically result in new ideas or approaches of considerable significance.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams, internally and externally with demonstrated problem-solving skills (pays attention to details and effort to understand causes instead of just the effects) and creativity for developing innovative solutions and applications.

This position also participates in vacation and sick leave pay programs. The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. This position is bonus eligible, however, anyone who commences employment after the beginning of the bonus plan period is eligible for a prorated portion of any bonus deemed earned and payable if he or she is hired and active prior to 180 days before the bonus plan period ends.
