Job Posting for Director of Corporate & Foundation Giving at Colorectal Cancer Alliance

Are you looking for a meaningful job? Do you want to use your expertise in leading and managing all aspects of non-profit fundraising events to help save lives and make a positive impact on those in need? Then come join the Colorectal Cancer Alliance team as our next Director of Corporate & Foundation Giving.

The Colorectal Cancer Alliance is a national nonprofit organization committed to ending colorectal cancer within our lifetime. We help patients, families, survivors, and caregivers navigate diagnosis and treatment options, connect them with those who can share experiences and knowledge, and identify resources to meet their needs. We partner with healthcare professionals and social influencers to raise awareness of preventative screening, and we collaborate with researchers to better understand the disease and fund critical research. Our efforts are urgent, effective, and efficient because we believe that tomorrow can’t wait.

To reach our ambitious goals, the Alliance must build and leverage partnerships with healthcare organizations, social support organizations, and other stakeholders. If we succeed, the Alliance can more effectively scale the impact of its programs through existing reach into communities, especially those communities facing health disparities in colorectal cancer diagnoses and outcomes. The Alliance is seeking a Director of Corporate & Foundation Giving with a key focus on building and implementing the growth strategy for both the corporate and foundation revenue lanes. This Director will lead the Corporate & Foundation Giving Team within the Development Department.

Some goals the successful applicant will need to achieve in the first year include:

  • Lead, grow and manage a Corporate and Foundation Giving Team (two direct reports) that secures $5M in revenue from corporate donors and $500K in revenue from foundation donors before the end of 2022. This is a 23% increase over the 2021 budget.
  • Develop and execute a customized strategy to solicit corporate donors not in the colorectal cancer space (preferably consumer brands), and bring them to the table with investment opportunities that advance the Alliance’s life-saving mission, and also position their brands in ways that advance their marketing and CSR objectives.
  • Build partnership with the Alliance’s pillar leaders in the departments of Screen, Care and Cure to develop sellable assets that support the organization’s growth strategy, and position the organization as an innovative and entrepreneurial leader in the colorectal cancer space.
  • Provide thought leadership to the CDO and the development staff around new approaches to fundraising to be used by the Corporate and Foundation Giving Team, as well as the full Development Department.

It is not an understatement to say this position will be part of a team responsible for saving thousands of lives and improving countless more. With 1.4 million people in the US living with colorectal cancer, we have urgency to find someone who can deliver results immediately. If you believe you have the experiences and ability to successfully achieve these goals, we’d like to hear from you!
